Funerals

Celebrating Life

Funerals are an emotional and poignant event. As a funeral celebrant my role is to assist in creating a celebration of life befitting of the person being farewelled. It has been my honour and privilege to write and conduct funeral ceremonies to ensure we do justice to celebrating the life of a loved one.

My mission is to create a ceremony that reflects the wishes, beliefs, cultural background and values - religious and non religious - of your loved one and family. You have complete choice, nothing is imposed on you.

We honour death and celebrate life.....

I understand that all funeral services should and will differ. This is in order to capture the unique nature and influence that the deceased person has had, on the lives of those around them.

It is my privilege to celebrate this life.  The opportunity to truly portray the character of someone who has been so loved, in so many differing ways, by those left behind is a gift.

My aim is to provide the real-life story, which is true to the character and personal qualities of your loved one. The service will not just be a chronological series of unfeeling events.  It will be a story told with feeling, compassion, sensitivity and most of all, a story wrapped in love.

Above all the funeral reflects the wishes of the family and the deceased. A Celebrant funeral honours death and celebrates life. You choose the readings, the music, in fact you can choose everything. As an Interfaith Minister I also have lots of ideas and resources to weave a ceremony for you.

Create a personal funeral ceremony

Helping families to say goodbye in a fitting and meaningful way, celebrating their life has been a privilege for me.

I prepare the eulogy for the deceased, select music that is important and relevant to the deceased, and can select poems, readings and prayers.

We can discuss any religious or spiritual beliefs held by the deceased. We find ways to reflect those beliefs within a ceremony as we hold sacred space to celebrate their life, in a fitting and meaningful way.

  • We offer time for silent reflection on how our lives intertwined and affected each other.
  • We share stories and memories
  • We share photos and items of relevance
  • We celebrate the life lived and mourn its loss also
